Il sera accompagné du digger lyonnais JEAN TOUSSAINT (ex-Turkish D) de Palmwine Records, qui vont tous deux enflammer le dancefloor du salon avec leur fantastique sélection musicale.

After a stint in GHANA, BRIAN SHIMKOVITZ, a trained ethnomusicologist, has accumulated hundreds of tapes of rare african music from ZIMBABWE to ETHIOPIA to SENEGAL and far beyond. He has been sharing his bount through his immensely popular blog AWESOME TAPES FROM AFRICA, which he takes on the road as a DJ. Expect a highly explosive and danceable trip to the amazing and raw music cultures of an entire continent. 

Since 5 years, Brian has been djing all over the planet at underground venues as well as high profile festivals. He has turned his influential blog into one of the most important sources for African musics, established a record label of the same name that embarked on re-releasing some of his most cherished tapes on vinyl, CD, MP3 and of course K7, as well as giving the opportunity to long forgotten musicians to come back to the stage and perform to worldwide audiences. 


JEAN TOUSSAINT (ex-Turkish D / Palmwine Records – Lyon/Genève) dj 

Très bon DJ, digger, music aficionado, JEAN TOUSSAINT est un dj qui monte grâce à sa passion à rechercher les meilleurs disques afro colombiens, africains, caribéens... Installé à Genève depuis 3 ans, il a mixé plusieurs fois pour Ecoutes au vert et s'est fait une place dans des endroits comme le Pachinko et les soirées Latino de Motel Campo. En 2013, il a été invité à farfouiller dans la collection privée de feu Claude Nobs pour y dénicher les disques vinyles qu’il a joué lors d’un set au Festival Jazz de Montreux.
